Sinful Women

Introduction of the Newly Released Album Photo Gallery - Recording the New Album  The Stories of the Sinful Women

The New Album - Sinful Women (Hříšnice)

Ancient and biblical stories: Why should they be interesting today?

Strong emotions and tragedy, pain and murders, abuse and violence, corruption and betrayal are people’s companions today just as they were in the old days. Delilah, Herodias, Salome, Medea, Jocasta, Clytemnestra, Kundry and Mary Magdalene. All the characters – women that I introduce on this CD – are sinful. But one must not judge only the outcomes of their pursuance. I am more interested in what made them act the way they did. How can a great, universal love change in one moment into something as frightful as hatred? How can this hatred be so strong it leads to the murder of one’s own children or men previously adored if not loved...? And what is even more interesting are the efforts of the composers who captured into tones what is going on in the minds and hearts of these characters. Their works are unique and remarkable opuses.

The interpret is a part of a great whole – together with the orchestra, the conductor and the musical work. All of us create it together and pass on with a great deal of humbleness... It is amazing to be there and make it come to life. To leave the reality and dive, maybe with Clytemnestra, into the corners of her pains and perverse bloody fantasies, without any help of a costume or a theatre scene...

For me singing is not just a sequence of beautiful tones. Quite the contrary. The human voice is capable of expressing the finest but also the very dark parts of the soul. The tones can be radiant with faith, sharp as the blade of a dagger, and grimly desperate, like the call for a rightful revenge.

I am grateful to God and fate that they have made it my mission to pass on such fantastic works as those on my album.

What is the aim of the Sinful Women project and album

William Didden

The Sinful Women project aims to point out sin, which is a part of each of us as well as humanity as a whole. Most importantly, it strives to speak to the broad public and lead people to the awareness of how to cope with sin, both internally and towards other people and nations. It is crucial to understand the role of I – the Ego that plays a crucial role in the origin of sin. One of the ways to heal our souls, our psyche, our relationships and ourselves is forgiveness. To forgive, not to sin and offend against ourselves and others is not easy. Sin has many different forms. We all know how hard it is for example not to sin in thoughts against ourselves. How fierce and enslaving human thoughts can be.

The journey towards forgiveness is sometimes tough, particularly in some cruel life moments that we go through. But this journey is absolutely necessary to achieve inner happiness and also mental and physical health.
